The child care point has been my wife's and I's position for the past three years. She pretty much did not work a job because it would have cost more to put two in day care than she would have brought in.

I think it comes from the program that apple has. I think instead of financing the device, you can do the 'iPhone forever' plan where you pay $30/month and can upgrade at any time. Edit: Here is the link. Looks like the price

It depends how deep in the weeds we want to get. I remember when first moving to Oregon, a news station played an interview with a contractor building apartments in Portland. The TLDR of that interview was, we could build affordable housing

I agree with you a lot here. Not in California, so have not looked at the bill so was curious as to if this applied to developers or just homeowners with large lots? Housing has a lot of regulatory capture that benefits already existing pro

Wouldn't it also allow developers to build apartments in places that previously they couldn't have because the ritzy neighborhood down the street can't bear the site of 'em?

I don't want to put words in the mouth of who you are responding to, but here would be my assumption. PPC is probably in a better position for mass distribution in the short term. Where as RISC-V still has some time to go before we can

Yup. The same republicans proud of their party history saw no issue with dragging people in front of congress for interrogation because they might be a communist (thought crime). (House Un-American Activities Committee).

I believe Anonymous claimed to do a DOS on the DOJ website because of the arrest of Kevin Dotcom (2012). Operation Ferguson (2014). Operation Saudi (2013). Operation KKK (2015). Operation Avenge Asange (2011). Quiet a few operations under t

For the northrup-grunman, his advise made sense, but as vet I agree with you on the characterization. As for the for-profit companies. For some reason there is not enough value placed on security in the eyes of the public. Sony is still a m

Yup. Security is a lot of time an after-thought and a burden to quiet a few companies since security is something that is not of immediate value. Last spring we had a speaker from northrup-grunman who talked about the need to push for a Dev

Yes and no. Debian's repos provide binaries for multiple version though. Since 11 has been about, Debian testing has always had OpenJDK11 and then of course binaries for newer versions. So they do ship the LTS, you just need to specify

Interesting, I did not know that one had to be a 'developed' user to be able to down vote. I may have to look more into the history of this and see some examples of implementations. Thanks for the info!
