Not necessarily. Language does matter as it is a construct that forms how problems are thought about. One thing I like about D is how it is much more multi-paradigm. I would like to see some more analysis of using D in Linux.

Maybe to try to answer some of OP's question. Rust is past it's "1.0" release. Other alternatives are also plenty viable and I would love to see more technical conversation considering them, but I think Rust is viewed as

Yes and no. There are many variables to take into account. An example from the early days of the PPC architecture was their ability to pre-empt instructions. This gave performance boasts even in the absence of a higher clock speed. I can&#x

Pretty much this. SystemD was inspired by LaunchD on MacOS and was written as a clean room implementation of something in the spirit of LaunchD. InitWare is essentially an init system inspired by SystemD.

It depends on where you fall in trade-offs. OpenBSD also tend to be proactive in security and will choose security over performance enhancements. FreeBSD aims for performance. If you need a super performant desktop that is running a BSD fla

I know right. I seem to remember the late 1800s and early 1900s where unions were fighting to take care of that stuff. Is that not old ways? Are 'old ways' only occurring in a specific time period?

Not necessarily, there are a lot of variables. If someone is a fugitive of a government and is using ham radio while also being stationary, sure. I think most HAMs are aware they can track signals that are stationary quiet well. After all,

I dont think dropping the CW requirements were a bad move, as you mentioned it can be difficult to make a trip to a testing session. When I got my general ticket, I was stationed down in San Diego, which does have a pretty big HAM presence.

Yes and no. But the broad implications are an issue. I've been a licensed ham for over a decade and dropping money on a nice HF radio and antenna is something I have not had the luxury of. Luckily now there are things like QrpLab kits

CAP is an amazing program. I was in it for awhile. Unfortunately, it is only a major thing in the home school community. My squadron had 30 other kids and myself and one other were the only public school kids. The rest were home school by r

I think the biggest reason not to allow encrypted data is the second point you mentioned. The bands will begin being used for purposes other than what the rules of ham radio allow. There are some individuals apart of groups who would defini

I think in order to achieve your final point, these kinds of things are necessary. I agree that it would be great to see a project that revives the core concepts of Plan9 in a modern sense, however, you have to attract people and give them

Last time I deployed on a ship (2011-12), the amount of time you had to sleep really depended on the job. Our engineering department on the ship, it was nothing for them to stay up 2 days straight. They had working hours, watch, drill, then

Yup. Trotsky was a perpetual world-wide revolutionary. Revolution was a constant state in Trotsky's mind. Stalin just wasn't. Stalin was much more nationalist in his thinking.
