I've noticed neighborhood groups on Facebook starting to fill this vacuum. It would be interesting if online journalism could embrace the model of geographic news.

There will need to be curation, or a stamp of approval for applications or online content. Then, a method of filtering an app store or search engine for that content. This would be appealing to parents (speaking as one myself).

It seems like quite a stretch considering people tend to accumulate financial responsibilities over time (kids, aging parents, etc.).

If everyone is building mud huts, are they held back by lack of tools? It seems like a decent kiln for making roof or floor tiles would make a big difference in many of their lives. Developing art or goods for export would help to make thi

Our world would be a better place with greater (or universal) access to mental health resources. My hope is that AI will eventually give us this.

From what I've heard, houses in certain humid and warm regions (like Florida) quickly succumb to mold without air conditioning. In some cases of abandoned properties, the house quickly becomes a total loss.

Yes, they do. Unfortunately, you tend to need several per child (minimum one for school, one for home). So, these costs quickly multiply.

It seems especially egregious when we are talking about a dispenser versus the drug itself.

Our entire medical system was founded as a reaction against snake oil salesmen and quacks who preyed on desperate people. If you support capitalism and the free market in medicine, you must acknowledge that monopolies can and do arise.

Are there any cases of a small company attempting this? Since the drug is well known and cheap, I was hoping to read about hackers designing an open source 3D printed dispenser.

As a consumer of epipens, I can assure you that we are not divorced from the price mechanism. We are talking about $300+ a unit for a dispenser (the drug itself costs pennies). The time needed for competition to manifest in the market wil

My children have a need for epipens. With our insurance, it is still prohibitively expensive. After hearing about the cost in GB, I'm considering making a trip to London to stock up

Other than spending money, there is only saving and investment. Some believe that our current lack of demand is caused by too much money chasing too few investments.

By low interest rates, do you mean Federal Funds, or the bond market? My impression is that mortgage rates tend to track the 10 year bond rate, given most people refi/sell before then. These and long term rates have been on a multi-de

I grew up in there. Solon is a great place to raise kids, with great schools (state leading math/science) and a low cost of living. Although, my experience was that Ohio is a tough climate for tech employment.
