Anecdotally, Apple Music has deteriorated exponentially for me. iTunes was such a stable, usable piece of software, but I can't get reliable use out of Apple Music for the life of me. It _feels_ like a shoddy Electron app. But that

Right on. I can definitely appreciate collecting media. I've been buying cassette tapes from artists on Bandcamp. I am already buying their digital album, it's usually only a few bucks more to also get the tape. They're small

> TikTok users who use the Chinese version The what now? There are no Chinese nationals using TikTok. It's banned there. Like it's now banned in the US.

Rad device! Not here to gripe about the actual price - and I realize it's counter-intuitive since we say "one hundred dollars" out loud - but in the US, the dollar sign goes before the amount: $189 not 189$

Yep. jQuery 4.0 is in it's second beta[0] and seems to clock in at 27kB. And the "slim" version is <20kB. [0] https://blog.jquery.com/2024/07/17/second-beta-of-jquery-4-0...

I was just reading about this https://porffor.dev > Porffor is a unique JS engine/compiler/runtime, compiling JS code to WebAssembly or native ahead-of-time.

I'm very aware of JS run on servers. And I knew that's what OP meant. I'm saying I'm not sure I like the usage. Maybe it's a generational dev vocabulary thing... I prefer "browser" or "client" JS

Never heard JS called "headless". Not sure I like it. edit: all JS is "headless". almost all languages are headless. _Software_ can be headless or have a GUI. but languages are naturally headless.

SAML-snark aside, this is a great primer. Definitely useful in explaining to different stakeholders what we're talking about when we talk auth.

FYI, in macOS v15 Sequoia +, Gatekeeper/quarantine/signing has changed. Right click to open won't allow the bypass. The quickest way, without disabling runtime protection: `xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications&

I think "regional" means continental. So if you get a regional plan in North America, it won't work in Europe.

Honestly, I'm surprised it took this long. A lot of ad tech is defeated simply because it is provided by a third party, outside the original request, and executed in the browser. So make it first party, use the main request, and build
