Well it looks like the sunlight foundation has done some nice work in this area, but as far as I can tell these are all bills that have made it to vote. http://www.opencongress.org/bill/all Whereas, I would like to see

I would say you are at the point where the next level is learning by doing and reading source code. You mentioned flask which I've been told is high quality code, start reading the bits that you use to find out how they work.

i wonder if # OF TVS * EVERY SPORTS BAR is what leads to the ESPN viewing numbers being so high. I really dislike sports and it's irritating that I'm forced to subsidize it.

agreed nikola is pretty sweet. I had to write my own because I was bored. it's a good intermediate level exercise that everyone should do at least once. Like phpers writing template engines. :)

it doesn't take an mba to read a balance sheet. a bachelors in accounting is enough to be a cpa. and you don't have to be a cpa to read a balance sheet. perhaps it takes an mba to manufacture a fake balance sheet that will pass wall street

IMO, buildout is more like maven for python. but again the tools solve this problem of "dependency hell" which to me is a problem all languages have, not just python

i tried pyvenv last week. and it was pretty useless without pip + distribute. So virtualenv still wins IMO.

you aren't implying that dependency hell is a problem unique to python/pip are you? dealing with dependencies is always step 2 for me when learning a new language and dependency hell seems like a universal problem. I could be wrong though.
