Ok, and when you sort these pixel-contained segments, what's the ordering?

What if a compiler were to only allow an array access when it can prove that it's in bounds? Wherever it can't you'd have to wrap the array access in an if, or otherwise refactor your code to help the compiler. Then you'

We hit performance issues when writing a dataflow graph editor in SwiftUI [1]. We couldn't express the graph as Views and instead used a Canvas to draw everything. So, we had to do manual layout of everything, and manual event processi

Many comments here calling for harsh sentencing for these sorts of crimes. I can’t find much empirical evidence that long prison time is a good deterrent for this. Perhaps I’m not using the right keywords. Please reply if you know good refe

I don’t think this is good for her in the end. Sure, she’s got a lot of media coverage, but what about her career as a documentary filmmaker? Surely the better outcome would be the film screened at Sundance.

Well the recent leaked LA city council tape should dispel any notions that left wing politicians aren’t racist. In fact the race-essentialism of the left is laid bare in that tape. “He’s with the blacks” etc.

Please think more about this. The film is currently not being distributed. The crew was tracked down and threatened to disavow the film or not find further work. That is absolutely cancel culture. That there is subsequent news coverage (sti

When there’s an open letter signed by lots of people who are guaranteed to be woke (documentary filmmakers!!), few of which have actually seen the film, how is that not a woke mob?

Hmm, surely a SwiftUI todo list could be implemented using O(log n) operations with ease. Anyway I think that example might scare people off, so definitely try to simplify it if you can :)

This is an interesting idea, but if you look at bigger examples, such as the todo-list example, the code is littered with `async` noise, calls to `borrow()`, and other fancy stuff like reducers. (A todo list is easily expressed in SwiftUI w

I use Lua as a user-facing extension language to write modules in my music synth app [1]. Though I'm used to zero-indexing, the one-indexing never bothered me much. None of my beta testers have complained about it. I think it's a

Is 128 bit the limit of what we would need? We use 128 bit UUIDs. 2^256 seems to be more than the number of atoms on Earth.

ElementaryOS had an app store in which your code had to be open source and they still were going to take 30% of the revenue. As an indie app developer initially interested, that really turned me off.
