Many comments here calling for harsh sentencing for these sorts of crimes. I can’t find much empirical evidence that long prison time is a good deterrent for this. Perhaps I’m not using the right keywords. Please reply if you know good references. I don’t think the dollar amounts matter much here, because those defrauded were rich and didn’t suffer significantly, AFAICT. (She wasn’t convicted of defrauding patients)
