I was referring to how a lot of the elderly live where they have no community, their body is shot, their mind is going, and modern medicine just keeps them in pain longer (if you were commenting directly to me)

I honestly can’t think of a dumber take. Longevity isn’t really about adding more years. No one wants to live another 10,20,30 more years how we currently do. But, if you can improve everyone’s health span, the amount of healthy, able bodie

I’m going to call bs on that. I’ve dined at high end restaurants and there is no way you can pay people that much and survive. The problem is everything cost more. It’s not like it’s a $20 meal that’s 800. There’s expensive plates, bowls, s

My focus has been on calisthenics, but I still do some lifting. My thoughts have been that lifting free benefits from increasing the strength of all the stabilizing muscles. machines take away a lot of that so that you can target a particu

You're gatekeeping gaming. Most mainstream games have some type of slot machine mechanic for virtual skins that are cash cows or are even pay to win. Apple also created a apple arcade to specifically curate games that aren't pay t

Apple is the third largest game platform. They don't have contempt for games. They just have no idea what exactly the vision pro will turn into so they aren't backing it down a path they can't return from. Selling it as a gam

Haha, the anti angular bias in this is so strong. From getting things just wrong to presenting their own feelings as fact. Makes me discredit the rest.

My knowledge of Oppenheimer is purely from the book Robert Oppenheimer by Ray Monk, but his title might be "the most important manager to have ever lived". He himself didn't make any big, groundbreaking discoveries (though he

The only issue I have (which, is happening less and less lately) is my debugger doesn't jump to the source. It hits and everything pauses, but I don't get routed to it and have to start progressing just to get it to work, which ca

No we’re logical. Did a 20-30year old looking at a monitor screen maybe get stumped? Or it’s aliens. What’s more likely?

VFX artists react had a pretty good video where they're pretty sure the footage over the ocean is just a bird. The oddness is due to the camera optics and the vessel that's recording it traveling extremely fast.

I agree, but that's not what the parent to whom I was responding to was describing. They said were holding on to their old car because of how simple and lacking of any tracking it had. I would prefer a newer car with better safety feat

The scrap yards are very efficient at pulling out all those parts and selling them. Any reasonably popular vehicle you shouldn’t have a problem sourcing parts.

That’s great for you, but there’s been amazing advances in the world of automobile safety in the past 20 years. I’d rather improve my safety chances in an accident than worry about “tracking”.

My only recommendation/advice is to use a thick bottom wok or pot. A wok allows the already popped popcorn to move away from the heat source. Thick bottom pots also reduce burning. Use a vented lid so steam can escape which prevents so
