People way over estimate how often they do 300+ miles in a day. I think it’s partially them not realizing that every time they leave the house with an ev, you’re leaving with a full tank.

Typically in mice. Testing in humans takes a very long time and has ethical concerns so if you wait until it gets "proven" to trust anything you'll be long dead already.

A quicker kettle would help. But triple heating the flair's chamber, then clean up and it's longer than I'd like for TTE.

My flair pro combined with a high end hand grinder has led me to never having a better espresso outside of my house. It's a decent amount of manual effort (start to finish time is about 10-15 minutes) but the only reason is to reduce t

Elon tried to buy the company and become CEO and OpenAI said no. I also heard that they knew they were going to burn through the 100M, and were counting on the 1B he promised, and couldn't raise enough money as a non profit so that

I've never seen a large company whose entire existence is a single app perform so poorly. It was down for me a whole day a week or so ago. Bugs are pretty rampant, they're small, but didn't happen to me previously. It's

It's awesome to have been able to follow this journey from the beginning. Reading your blog posts, to your announcement, to your yearly posts. Keep up the great work.

Agreed, I spent 8-12 months transitioning to minimalist footwear for daily use. Then picked up running slowly, to eventually running a half marathon in very thin running sandals.

Definitely a good start. It can be difficult for many to transition as you are trying to use muscles that haven't been engaged properly for decades.

Wearing modern shoes. As a society, we have somehow led everyone down the path that feet must be wrapped in socks that constrict the feet, then placed in shoes that are designed for looks and not anatomy. It's led to generations of peo

Electrically heated clothing is now becoming readily available, and I think it could have a big impact on home heating if people would come around to it. I'm able to keep my office much colder, but wear a heated vest. Why heat the whol

There are now plenty of scientists pushing for aging to be classified as a disease, rather an inevitability. It is becoming much more mainstream and has seen lots of money flowing to it.

no. You're just wwrong. It's the wrong tool if you need to tow for more than 100 miles in a single day. It's become very political tool to state that if electric vehicles cannot be better than gas/diesel at every single

Who are we to say the life of a chicken is less important than a human. That’s billions of chickens are needlessly killed simply because it is inconvenient to deal with them else wise when looking for egg laying chickens.

I don't think the mass killing of billions of baby chicks should be justified because it's "an instant death". Just because there are other issues worth fixing doesn't mean it's a distraction, that's just

A lot of the teams aren't organizations, and the ones who are can sometimes get pretty low salaries, from what I understand. With how much movement there is in the leaderboard year to year, the team who came in first in 2020 placed las

I only follow pubg esports, but I'm just not seeing how a pro player in an expensive country can afford to make a living. The competition is brutal, the hours to be at the top are very high, and unless you're a top streamer the in

Basically. Every part of the animal livestock system at scale is a horror. If you can get from small, local producers then that’s great. But the factory farm system for anything meat, dairy poultry is hard to stomach.

I'm very similar to OP. I typically have one, 18g of bean coffee a day. Beans range from about 15-20/lb, so that's ~25 days of coffee, so between .60 - <1.00 a day. My gear is a ~$250 hand grinder, an aeropress $40, and a

I think a large part of the problem is we may never have big studies for this. It’s very difficult to do human trials, you can’t just lock people up and restrict their calories for years on end.

I’d call it both. There’s the use case of adding small react components sprinkled through an application, in this case it’s a library. Then there’s the use case of having everything be a react component, and you use lots of react specific l
