Not at all. 50-50 is too much. With product led growth and other avenues you should definitely scale it down. Also do not give it away all in the beginning but tie it to some commitment.

Will the genuine mass mailers also have to do it? How will doing the work reduce spam? There is already a cost of sending spam in terms of infra. I think spam is more a trust issue.

Don't back down. You can give a volume discount but anything between 2-2.5 should be your target. You have to service 500+1 large suppliers. Give discounts for upfront purchase of licenses. Otherwise the sales rarely materialize.
