Yep, you definitely need to implement user authz for _every_ resolver indepedently and safelist/allowlist only those operations you'll use. You probably had to disable introspection in production too. Out of curiosity, could you n

Believe it or not, but it has come up in a bunch of conversations with enterprise users! :) Can you do everything you do with graphql, but also with sql?

I think the position sounds valid but it misses the point. Perhaps a more interesting discussion would be, why don’t more services use SQL as an API standard? Maybe it being better or worse doesn’t matter?

What tools have people used to build servers that speak SQL? Where SQL becomes an API protocol like GraphQL, whether it talks to a database or not doesn't matter. Something like https://calcite.apache.org/ ? (It's

That works automatically! 1. During the lifetime of a websocket connection, bytes should be routed to the same Hasura instance. This most service routers / load balancers should take care of automatically. 2. Subsequent connections fro

(I'm from Hasura) Hasura connects to a read replicas and manages connection pooling across the database cluster. Hasura itself is stateless so it doesn't do the database replication.

I'm excited about the fluent GraphQL ecosystem and to see where it goes! Using the nice syntax of GraphQL does get lost a little bit ofcourse, but having the benefits of being able to "compose" to some degree and not dealing

Hey! 1. We're working on adding nhost to the Hasura docs as a deployment guide for when you'd like authn + files + hosted postgres in one neat place. Johan just did a slick demo in the community call right now :) 2. To clarify: Ha

Hasura's authz is whatever authz you can derive from the data within your database or from the claims embedded in the authn token. If you have a table that contains the claims for each user, then you can reference that in the authz rul

If you're up for it, I'd love to chat and see if Hasura could've worked in your case[1]! Especially on the read side, if we're able to model the authz with Hasura your API consumers get a rich read API "for free&quo

Any thoughts on auto-detecting the language/framework so that’s it’s just git push and you don’t even need a dockerfile? For a zeit or Heroku like experience. It might require a lot of conventions (which might not be worth it finally)

This sounds really exciting! I think it should be fairly straightforward to get this to work with Hasura/Postgres on the server by ensuring a few data-modelling constraints. Authorization should also just work I think. Can't wait
