Sorry but you don't have a clue what you're talking about. The problem IS the data. Apple has four problems: (1) inaccurate street data coming from TomTom, (2) missing data for parks/green/open spaces, (3) missing internal data e.g. shoppi

People need to understand that Apple is taking a long term view of this. And we know this because they didn't setup relationships with any of the local data providers in each country. They just setup a single one with Yelp.

Actually the Yelp move is very, very smart but a little premature. Yelp is building relationships around the world with the key "business listings" companies in each country. For example in Australia they have a relationship with Yellow Pag

Except that Apple Maps DOES get the basics right. The app itself is great. It is smoother, faster and technically better than the previous Google Maps implementation. The problem is that the data is about 50% accurate. It is exactly what an

I don't think you understand what the word "project" means. It does not mean complex software.

It's about time that governments actually intervened and forced regulations on any company/entity that deals with Bitcoins.

There are plenty of high value targets e.g. Amazon, Apple Store, eBay, banks just to name a few. So to claim that Bitcoin services are unique in any way is just ridiculous. And just because you get root access to a server does not mean that

Nothing out of the ordinary. And crashing is one thing but how on earth does Google have such bad download/upload speeds. http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!categories/drive/rep...

Sorry but Google Drive is by far the worst out of all online storage/sync providers. Crashes constantly for Mac users and has awful upload/download speeds. And they have made zero effort to do anything about it for over a year. You only hav

None of what you said makes ANY sense. Have you ever actually scaled an app before ? Adding more app servers increases the number of requests you can handle. It doesn't make slow apps or latency faster. Both of those are possible causes for

How on earth do you equate that statement with "we don't need a DBA when we get into production" ? Do you need a DBA to get MySQL running ? No. Oracle ? No. SQL Server ? No. That's all it means. Normal people understand that there is a diff

You know what I do before making big decisions: Read. The. Documentation. Every single issue mentioned about MongoDB is in the documentation and pretty fundamental to how it works.

Why do you think Google even has Maps ? Advertising. iOS users greatly outnumber Android in mobile internet use hence it would be stupid of Google to leave money on the table and not build an app.

Only inept developers would assume that. EVERY database call should be wrapped in exception handling to make sure that any errors e.g. connection errors are handled appropriately. MongoDB is no different in this case.

10 years and PostgreSQL still has no easy, manageable solution for replication or sharding. And it's JSON support is still nothing more than a bolted on hack on top of a BLOB. People need to stop acting like PostgreSQL is some holy grail d
