Oh, I thought this was like a PR notification system, it's to actually send the diff to an email list. And the recipients would pull in those changes from the email? I think that's kind of how things worked a long time ago IIRC. I

It's too bad they are using Gradle and Intellij, used both before, went back to Maven and Eclipse. Personal preference I guess.

When they say "applications" do they mean stuff with more meat than microservices? If they're mostly microservices, 2800 seems low to me for someone with the recognition factor of Netflix.

That's cool, I've played with GNU Radio some, wasn't aware it used ZeroMQ, actually, I've used several *MQ's but not ZeroMQ, guess I should look into it more.

Debian could be great except for driver support which they only tacitly acknowledge: https://www.reddit.com/r/debian/comments/paxj85/why_debian_w... "We acknowledge that some of our users require th

I like what kube achieves, I don't like the power and memory hungry requirements of it, it seems ill optimized. A cluster with no pods uses 5%-15% CPU, that's a lot of electricity being used for nothing. It's really odd since

It feels like Microsoft has a paid fleet of AI evangelists prowling the forums praising anything related to AI no matter how ludicrous.

If it runs the Linux kernel, it's Linux. It isn't Windows, Mac, BSD, SunOS, or any other OS...it's Linux.

"You should be rotating the key regularly and automatically, and publishing old private keys." OK, I read the article, I operate my own email server and nothing I read convinces me I should do what they're suggesting.

When Microsoft was accused of monopolistic behavior for integrating IE into the OS IIRC it was the DOJ who went after them. In this case, it's the FTC, seems like it should be the DOJ to go after Amazon based on Microsoft's case.

Thanks for posting about Apache, now I remember I wanted to look into switching back to OpenOffice from LibreOffice to compare. OpenOffice I'm hoping didn't ditch Java like the folks at LibreOffice did.

I remember the days of non-NAT IPv4, though I'd forgotten until you mentioned it. I'd be OK with NAT IPv6, though the addresses are still ugly and difficult to reason about.

No other cloud provider has that issue. I do not believe their motives are altruistic. If they were, they would support creating something better than IPv4 and IPv6. IPv6 is a privacy nightmare, I don't plan to debate it, I was simply

The biggest issue is IPv6 is a privacy, wide open wild west, there is no privacy on IPv6. Every device's IP is literally public, on the public Internet, 24/7. All so called privacy extensions or improvements do not change the lack

KISS XML is the best, so glad to see people like the author coming around to it. JSON is fine for JS (since JS isn't likely to ever be gone from our lives) but YAMl, as the author said, never has a case the makes it worth dealing with.
