We liked Prime for years for the video content and the shipping. We are now going to drop Prime. I already dropped AWS when they announced they were going to screw people with new charges for using IPv4. Losing shipping will suck but it's not the end of the world.
- QuinnyPig 3y agoI've got a laundry list of complaints about Amazon, but the ipv4 charge isn't one; it's a finite resource that a lot of companies are being lazy with. Without a reasonable IP usage plan, their ability to get future allocations on the secondary markets would be imperiled.
- talent_deprived 3y agoNo other cloud provider has that issue. I do not believe their motives are altruistic. If they were, they would support creating something better than IPv4 and IPv6. IPv6 is a privacy nightmare, I don't plan to debate it, I was simply stating that AWS lost me as a customer and now Amazon Prime is losing us.
