Java didn't have generics until version 5. They were added 8 years later.

I guess I'm understanding some of the concerns. It does make the code harder to understand. I wish they would use the angle brackets to match other languages.

You know? Original Java was a fairly simple language :) Generics were added in 2004 in J2SE 5.0.

Sorry but there's a bit of bias, every author of a library thinks that their approach is better than of their competing libraries. If they didn't, they would just not create another solution. Having said that you might be right wi

I think readability has multiple dimensions, and it really depends what you are looking for. For example here's a code in Go to look for a Prime: func IsPrime(n int) bool { if n < 0 { n = -n }

You can totally do fine without generics depending what you do. It mostly affects code that supposed to be reusable, especially libraries.

I prefer imagine future where the local loop was unbundled. Rendering starlink unnecessary and giving great speed and great ISP choice. Yes, starlink gives an additional choice, and that's great, but this approach is even harder to ent

You just help them without saying you got $55M. As the GP mentioned, people, even family members will start treating you differently (nicer if you start giving them your money, worse if you don't). That's IMO a valid excuse why yo

A lot of people who also think about it politically forgetting that it will also increase migrant crisises. As things get unhabitable people will be migrating. This will apply to the southern border of US.

Not op, but choosing async vs sync replication is typically done around guarantees. Async (the default mode) is generally preferred in most cases as it adds relatively small overhead. The problem with it, is that if something happens to mas

The difference is that this is a test before actual mission, similarly why there's plan to go to the Moon before going to Mars. People there are not paying for the attraction and they are also aware with associated risks.

The issue is that if you try to squeeze a relational model into object oriented model you won't get an efficient solution. Solutions like django might be good when you're starting the project or it is something very simple, otherw

Unlike Blue Origin or Virgin Atlantic SpaceX is not an amusement ride. He doesn't need to prove anything, because he isn't looking for passengers that would pay $250k for a 10 minute ride.

Yes, but I remember though that at the time a big selling point was that Google used it. Similarly it's now for golang, it is a mediocre language, but because Google is using it, got very popular.

Most misinformation is at least in part founded on truth, it is just that some of it is left out, some changed and a lot of BS is added. The links to CDC forwarded on Facebook contain the misinformation in the description, very few actually
