Generally, on the server-side, you parameterize the query. Depending on the server-side language, a normal SQL query that would read SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE lastName = 'Smith' would be converted to something like SELECT * FROM myTable W

Actually, I think it's a great long term move for their QNX-based platform. End users don't care whether an app is native, Android, AIR, WebWorks or Java-based as long as it's available in some form. Having more apps offers an incentive fo

Our tech startup is based in Hollywood and while I love San Francisco, I find the socal weather, ambiance and temperament to be conducive to creativity. Well, that might just be me.

I actually have an approved app for the PlayBook and actually found the entire process quite straight forward, especially considering that both the sdk and simulator are both in beta.

What you're arguing is the semantics of a very personal word that means different things to very different people. To the poor, wealth == money; to the rich, wealth == all of the other things that one can think about when you don't have to

Same here. I was looking to see if anyone had noticed that there was no zip code (I'm in '0028' in HW) specified for Hollywood. ...Wondering if there was anything specific that you guys specified on your app?

It really amazes me how far we've come in the last 25 years and how much has remained the same. Here's to the next 25 and making fun of today's technology :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it might be that on Windows, it harnesses DirectX, and since the whole point of Flash/Flex is to be able to run on all of the platforms (fairly seamlessly), this could be difficult if OpenGL isn't presen

By the way, I just checked out your site (cool idea), but there're a few typos on the main page: "Your business needs <to> be on Facebook."

I think Microsoft has a lot riding on this platform and as such they'll be pumping a lot of cash into the marketing and promotion of this release. From a software standpoint, I'm quite excited about the .NET experience I'll be able to harn

I don't understand why there's such a polarization regarding Flash vs. HTML5. A well-designed platform should take advantage of the technology that applies best for its intended market -- whether it's using a single technology or multiple
