Interesting fact learnt from the Phonegap creator at Web Directions: calls to the battery API actually decrease battery life.

If you're interested in adding the left/right style example and you're already using jQuery UI, you can use the ones I built here that inherit your slider styles: http://taitems.github.com/UX-Lab/ToggleSwitch/index.html

Interesting concept, but seems like the same underlying principles of the .data() method (or at least how it was originally planned) except for the direct DOM manipulation. eg: A central object store where references are bound to DOM object

So how do you propose storing a JSON object with .attr()? Do you JSON.stringify(), store as string, get as string, JSON.parse()? Seems like a no-brainer to abstract it away into a helper function, but then you're just duplicating .data() fu

I'm interested to see if they discover a firmware disabled NFC chip, similar to how Bluetooth was originally included but disabled. And yes, I'm aware it was publicly denied.

Really? Say what you will about the colour choice gimmick, this could be one of the cheapest, consumer-friendly solutions to home automation of all time. The only DIY product I've seen prior to this is a device you place between the power p

Big things are on the horizon for the jQuery.Gantt plugin. A reliable contributor is working on adding drag and resize to the solution while I work on some fiddly little bugs. I also believe someone had a proof of concept for adding depende

Try hitting "CTRL +" to zoom and it will bring your system to a halt. Interesting effect though. It's what some crafty devs are doing to get around image blocking in modern email clients, like here: http://www.campaignmonitor.com/blog/post

Hey guys, I did something similar but based off the styles of the jQuery UI slider plugin. I found while these types of standalone plugins looked okay, they were frustrating to customise or even to make them look PERFECT. Check it out here:

Really? This is the one thing I've been missing from Notepad++ that I could never get working in either the Windows or Mac versions of ST2. Maybe it landed in that update last night or the night before.

This is really exciting. If this stood alone as it's own service and paired with Siri, well... take my money! But something niggling with the banner: the strange depth of field, combined with the sheer size and incorrect angle of the laptop

The thing that ruins the user experience for me? Non-sticky toolbars that scroll with the page. Fix that and people may actually believe it's a native app.

I thought the whole aversion was based on the fact that power users, bots and search engine crawlers alike fake user agents all the time - meaning it's tough to draw any kind of useful conclusion or deliver a consistant user experience base

Just an FYI, the whole site looks naff in Windows because of the use of "Lucida Grande" and no font-stack degradation. Even a "sans-serif" fallback would have sufficed.

I fixed up Firefox support. Strangely, all the 3D transform examples have always mentioned something like "perspective: 1000". It's always been some imaginary unit. Firefox requires "1000px" for it to work.
