I used it in the past when I learned Python - I built small apps that were just for fun. It's a powerful engine, and has a lot of nice features. I'm pretty happy with starting there, because I moved on to Xcode afterwards.

A 4chan submission seems like a desperate attempt to get eyes on your product. Has anyone every tried this before? "How I used 4chan to make $X" would be an interesting read.

This is absolutely brilliant. It perfectly and precisely depicts how I feel. Most of the time, I love to talk and interact with people. Everyone has a story to tell and networking rarely hurts. As a current freelancer, it's fascinating to h

Well, that comes down to a very specific question: Do you like iOS or Android better? If you are indifferent, what do you like/dislike about your current phone? Also, if you're thinking about mobile development, go for the one you'll be dev

Basically yes. Provide something that might be attractive, such as extra or alternative features that you think users would enjoy. Some sites that have great APIs are Flickr, Reddit, and Hacker News (although, I cannot personally recommend

I am also getting started with this process and these are things that have helped me: It seems like you are very aware of what you are capable of. It's great to be realistic, but also realize that you are now in the professional market like

I'm curious about how you would go about "charg[ing] more." Do you contact current clients and explain why you are raising prices and charge them your increased price on the next job? Do you just state it and not explain?

It looks like a little validation from others can go a long way. Take some time to show off your best work - or whatever you currently have. Let your potential audience provide feedback for you.

This particular interview is actually quite old (not that it isn't still incredibly fascinating). The Foundation series has been going on for a long while, and Kevin has created 30 interviews with outstanding people. If you have some time t

The content itself seems great. I have a few tips for the presentation, though. - The "enter," and "you get" slides are a bit hard to visualize. Put "enter" on the left and "you get" on the right - Try including some interactivity with the

For me, HN is a platform to discuss interesting things with interesting people and to expose myself to opportunities that I would otherwise not have. So yes, I do use my real identity.

Great point. I agree, and I hope that collaboration between Google and third-party developers will only increase what IntelliJ and now Studio is capable of.

As mentioned above by shadowmint, it seems that Microsoft is looking for some attention, and they have already succeeded. Well done. But what are the long-term effects on the growth of what Microsoft really needs (a thriving third-party mob

If the interviewee has an app in the App Store, a good option might be to let them tell you about the technical details. Go over their code and ask them to explain everything. In the right situation, this may be a good section to add on to
