Did you look at the screenshot? This is an attempt to make something look like MacOS, and they've failed miserably, at least so far. I'll bet anything your wife hates it, and I'd be surprised if she even gives it a chance.

Maybe you can’t, and that’s fine, but for most people the superior user experience delivered by that walled garden is more appealing than any alternative. I’m not defending Apple’s user-hostile practices, I’m just saying that if this situ

Yep, and that's what the "2.5MB" in my original post referred to. So, a Blazor app that does nothing but print "Hello world" to the screen is as heavy as a horrendously bloated SPA that presumably does something of

I’d argue internal applications are _the only_ acceptable use case for Blazor. I only mention it because this quote from the article strikes me as mildly disingenuous: > An app like this can basically scale forever, cheaply. It can put t

I pray you’ll never need to display blocks of text, or do anything with text input. Font rendering and text editing are no joke, and browsers do it well with HTML + CSS. Latency might be the biggest downside for your specific use case, but

What’s the client bundle size for a “Hello World” in Blazor WebAssembly? Last I checked it was ~2.5MB, which makes it a non-starter for public-facing web apps, imo.

You’ve quoted google’s write up, but surely they made a mistake - the year should be “1844”, no? https://www.google.com/doodles/celebrating-alexandre-dumas

I doubt it. Edit: thinking about this more, possibly? Although, to me, Occam’s Razor seems like a strategy for making the best use of one’s time, not as a direct method of finding truth.

The narrative fallacy is a great counterpoint to the popular invocation of Occam’s Razor. The next time I hear someone choose to believe something because it’s the simpler story, I’ll be bringing this up.
