It's decode only for some reason. For whatever reason sox and libsndfile won't touch it; ffmpeg won't encode it. And iOS and Android browsers won't play it. Shame because it's clearly the current winner.

Probably because there's no widely available encoder. Why hasn't this been folded into ffmpeg/sox/etc?

Using the same file extension for non-lossy and lossy music... ugh. If they wanted to sell DRM protected lossless files I'd even cut them some slack, but they didn't. This was just poorly thought out. Likewise both formats are tri

Apple's needless introduction of ALAC, basically a slightly dumber FLAC, was inexcusable.

S3 guarantees three nines of uptime. Thus, you should be prepared for 8+ hours of downtime at any moment . If Salesforce gives you 99.8% vs. Amazon's 99.9% and this shocks you into writing a reactive web post, it's a good time to

Right. My argument is that you could fork the relevant subset of jQuery and own your own compatibility story in the event that Rails wants to push this on apps for some reason (I don't see the benefit of that). An alternative would be

Someone in DHH's position could approach jQuery and request a subset containing what he needs. And then other projects could benefit from the refactor. If there's even a benefit. This same post by the leader of any other project w

In addition to the distance cues the brain derives from eye musculature he mentions, there are also distance cues based on audio perception. This perhaps explains why dramamine has an odd impact on VR motion sickness. The audio tech in this

I suppose. But pushing out a low-quality version of a previously high-quality service isn't disruption; it's just peeing in the pool. LANDR is now on version three of their algorithm and it still sucks. The goal here is to move pe

The problem with these platitudes is that they distract from the real issue: all the money is made by the players who control the "routing around." It is not futility at all. It is a vital energy input to the system. Broken to you
