Nobody does actually. Postgres not having deterministic query plans is a big pain and a good reason not to use it. The same query may use different query plans depending on the estimated number of affected rows, very frustrating.

Would love to see a practical example of this. Another thing to consider is table fragmentation. Fragmentation > bad row count estimation > bad query plan.

What then? I spoke about Firefox because I am not updated on other browsers' policies. The fact that other browsers do the same does not invalidate my point, but rather reinforces it. I for one would like to have web apps on my PC, san

Hello bobfunk, thank you for acting on this. One question though, what is Netlify gonna do to ensure this doesn't happen again? I understand it's a hairy question, but the general consensus seems to be some policy must be changed

I have a memory from my childhood that still makes me smile. At six years old I have been told that old people tend do sleep less. So I went to my father and asked: "Daddy, why do old people sleep so little?" He looked at me and s

Also Firefox doesn't really support installing a PWA on the desktop (while it does on mobile). I don't see any clear intention from anybody to make PWA a viable alternative to the various App stores and software repositories in ge

The pay as you go model is completely wrong. Companies should be legally required to allow their customers to set a ceiling to their monthly spending.

I am using nginx-proxy (look it up on github) . It hasn't been that simple to put together, I will investigate MicroK8S in the future.

I gave up Graphql due to buggy/obnoxious vscode plug-ins, also I would pass over code gen if I can. I have a simple setup with pg+drizzle+zod+trpc. I don't like the libraries that much, but it overral works very well. I'd pre

The preprocessors are here to stay though. They have been instrumental to build consensus about which new features are the right ones to incorporate. For what it concerns the JS/CSS/HTML the (good) outcomes are hard to deny.

Beside the jokongly answer gave above, a bunch of ideas: Look for something that sucks (for example, a decent and free restaurant QR menu web app) and make a better one. Look for an extremely difficult thing and implement a minimal proof of

I am developing a side project these days. This what I've got since now: 5-30 seconds deploy time, end to end type safety from db to the frontend, 100 lighthouse score, automatic let's encrypt certificates for my docker machines,

I like it! Thank you for making it available and bonus point for it to be WPA. I won't be using it because as many others have pointed out, it still need to be refined, but overral looks like quite a good job.

Hello, thank you for your answer. There's apparently more in scrapscript than what's written on its homepage. I didn't really meant to compare it to PRQL, but at the same time it probably offers some of the propositions of PR

I am using YAML myself to manage my CV in two different languages. Using a convention like "description(en): ..." the different translations are co-located making it easier to keep everything in sync.
