My take is one should be especially wary of packages that depend on C libraries and need compliation. You get to be extremely bound to what the OS distribution has to offer. If that's the case, docker is probably the safest solution.

Please let us embed that sqlite-hosting postgres in a TXT DNS record. We really need that.

On a side note: has anybody experience with MicroK8s? I'd love to learn stories about it. I'm interested in both dev and production experiences.

Monokai has a retro feeling that brings back to the CGA graphic card. The colors are pretty much the same.

Very happy. Svelte is cool stuff. Love the sense of proportion the devs have when they make the inevitable tradeoffs. This is a very big release indeed. What comes to my mind is that also Bootstrap slowed down releases at some point, and no

Interesting! How do you connect via ssh? Do you just leave the port open or is there any trick you'd like to share?

Because different browsers insert the content in a different fashions. The reliable way to use contenteditable is to intercept keypresses and modify the inner HTML yourself, i.e. use contenteditable only to use the cursor affordance.

Exactly. You would use jsconfig in place of tsconfig, and disable the build just like you said. At that point you can use JSDoc for typing as well as .ts.d files when the JSDoc is not enough. It's a bit more verbose, but overall I find

You can use typescript on plain js files, just for type checking, without the need of a build.

You're in for bad luck. Some time ago I tried some photos of pasta dishes with Gemini and it could not guess the recipe name.

Wait, it depends on what you're doing. Pipes also create a subshell so they are a big nono when used inside a loop. Suppose you're cycling on the lines of stdout and need to use sed, cut and so on, using pipes will slow down thing

An interesting alternative is the javascript+typescript approach that Svelte uses. Typescript is only used for the typechecking, there is no transpilation for running the app since all the run-time code is written in plain javascript.

Not exactly, in Svelte you don't declare components in plain js, you create a svelte file and the compiler does the rest. Whether a component is a function or a class is an internal detail you don't need to know, except in the cas
