I think Asana tries to upscale. It is easy to make a solution for a single person or a single team, but when you try to create company-wide platform (as Asana tries), it is inevitably leads to complications like Workspaces/Organization

Most likely Asana will be too simple for you then. For example, you can't assign more that two people on a task and estimates are just custom fields that are not so ingrained into the system, so you'll have troubles with reports.

I'll add that teams should be cross-functional. If every team has product related person, designer, developers and qa — they will do OK.

I agree, I overreacted. We had 20% rules for few years with mixed results, but put this practice on hold till Summer. Maybe we will not see such problems when it will be back.

It is really hard to measure developers productivity and nobody knows how to do that with a good precision. But in general I agree that top developers should be paid good money, like 2 times less then CEO.
