Could humans realistically do something similar by grabbing on to one another with arms extended out (imagine three people, A onto B and C, B onto A and C, and so forth). People have been able to do some crazy things, like these ants, under

I've been trying to implement the following metrics: 1. Forecasting accuracy -- Given a goal estimate how long it will take. Try to minimize the amount of time it takes. 2. Streaking -- Try to minimize the amount of time you're n

Disclosure: I don't have a LinkedIn account. I think the better advice is to figure out how to make your career better. I doubt anyone cares about a good LinkedIn profile, rather they care about you being successful. Suppose you were s

Ah, in your case a scooter would definitely be more dangerous. I doubt any scooter could stop on a dime down the kind of hills you're encountering. Even cars have trouble stopping quickly. I'd actually say all forms of transport

It is reasonable, but why would you want to arrive to work sweaty if it's not necessary? It's easy to forget that the average person doesn't have access to a shower at work. Also, a kick scooter is significantly safer and mor

Well I think of it like: Walking - E-Skateboard - E-Scooter - E-Bike - E-Moped/Gas Scooter - E-Car Let's ignore skateboards for a minute, which are significantly more difficult to learn than any of the others. With this you have s

You're right. I will point out that the 15MPH limit is generally a legal restriction as opposed to a technical one. The Juiced Bikes Cross Current S costs $1200 and can go 28mph with pedal assist. It's not inconceivable to have a

Electric scooters and mopeds are the future. I have a Glion Electric Scooter -- I can go 15MPH for 15 miles. It costs $800, is super safe and easier to use than a skateboard (I used to have a Yuneec Ego Skateboard). The best thing about is

I thought to survive in tough times a restaurant just needed to provide great food at a reasonable price. In fact, I've never heard of a restaurant have great (not good) food at a reasonable price die. It's tough if your food is j

Maybe I'm ignorant (very likely) but I've never understood the difference between full autonomous driving and a fully intelligent AI. If a car can drive in any environment and react to any circumstances surely said AI could also d

When I went through this process a while ago I found that large companies are very receptive to hiring new grads. In addition to that I'd try the "standard" advice: 1. Check the monthly hiring threads here. 2. Try the standar

Because there's uncertainty in the world. People lie, the world changes, etc. Company A says no dividends ever, while maintaining soaring stock prices. Company A fires its CEO and Company A gets a new CEO. The new CEO doesn't say

In regards to (1), I don't get it. Just because the value changes doesn't mean it's not fixed. A trivial example is 100 = XA + YB + ZC. Fixed, yet weights for each value can change. And with (2), what's the value then?

This is a great point. Like you imply, I don't think the incentives are there. After a certain level of "greatness" your compensation will almost never be commensurate with your value.

I'm not sure what you're stating to be "False." That stocks would be purchased without dividends? That's obviously true. Stocks need not have dividends to be valuable, only just have someone else willing to pay more

I disagree with the premise. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that stocks would be purchased even if there were no dividends. Case and point, (and to remain on-topic): cryptocurrencies.

Hmm. I only invest passively so I can't say I'm super knowledgeable about this. My understanding is that stocks do not inherently give you dividends. Food inherently has caloric value, so I'd say that's the difference. A

Ignoring dividends, what intrinsic value do stocks have? I'd be curious to know how the stock market, ignoring dividends, is not a zero sum game. Maybe my understanding of "zero sum" is incorrect.

From my limited understanding, ICOs are more or less a tax on being stupid, as (relatively) intelligent individuals ride the cryptocurrency wave, profiting off the naive greed of the dumb. In other words, money made off cryptocurrencies are

Assuming the rental is already occupied and there's a lease in place a part of that income is included when calculating your income for a mortgage.
