Posts like this remind me of high school where I argued against some hypothetical and got bullied because people got weirded out by it.

From what I recall it was more that some people (not sure if they were students) were feeling harassed by his behaviour.

How long until I can use ChatGPT to replace myself in social gatherings? It's probably a better conversationalist too.

Meh, this is a pretty shit article based on some twitter-style "hot take" definition of conservatism, I know people love getting ragebaited but there is no reason for anyone on either side of the argument to bother responding here

I don't think that's true, most cases of doxxing happen with publicly available information. But I guess you could argue doxxing isn't really "illegal."

"Youtube Shorts" is just an alternative frontend, you can replace any url from youtube.com/shorts/XYZ to youtube.com/watch?v=XYZ to watch them with the original UI.

From what I understand, it's just meant for parody accounts.

I'm sure you've used software with open APIs with terrible accessibility too, the point is that with enough interest, open APIs make it easier to make alternate frontends. And open source implies an open API with the additional ad

It's a computational device, it's normal to be able to install whatever OS you want on it. Apple is the outlier here.

Ads aren't considered content, uBO is called a content blocker because it can block all kinds of DOM content and not just ads.

I was just thinking about how if Rust were a community driven project the top comments on any HN post would be about how "it's terrible marketing for your language meant for industrial applications to be called rust" and &quo

Europeans don't go around naked all day. It being acceptable to see a person in the nude in certain scenarios is not the same as a complete lack of inhibition towards private parks. You talk about African tribes covering their genitals

Something about this cookie-cutter smug response makes me nostalgic for a decade ago where you'd see posts like this on every forum every time Linux was mentioned.

Not sure what to make of this post. You know that you can drop files straight to your Kindle through a USB cable, right? As long as an epub loaded this way doesn't work I can't see how you can say Kindles support epub. Yes, you ca

I use one to redirect youtube shorts pages to the regular youtube UI. Also one for old.reddit.

This might not be entirely related but something I've noticed is that whenever you see the promotional material for a modern UI toolkit you will find that it's marketed for ease of use for developers rather than making easy to use

I'd support banning teenagers from the internet, not for the sake of their mental health but for the quality of internet discourse.

I don't know if there's data to support this but from what I can tell Linux users are just poorer on average. So it's not like they think low res screens are "sufficient", most of them just don't think it'

That isn't specific to TERF, people just like to throw around insults like that and use them as a basis of their argument these days. You just notice it in this case because it's an acronym that defines itself. It's like ince
