Similar for meat, I try to eat less of it and everything we buy is biologically produced. The price difference is decreasing compared to just 2 years ago. Maybe it's a combination of increasing cost on the non-bio side of things and in

Killing the chickens was required of them by the government (as it has over here in Europe for several locations, for the same reason). But they decided to do it in the cheapest way possible, because shutting down the environmental control

Very much so. I have the daycare in my ring-through settings, they rarely call but if they do it's because there is something wrong. Most people understand that you want to take that call, but some don't. And those are the kinds o

Absolutely, and my home automation setup in total also uses more power than what this trick is saving. But it's there anyway because I want an automated home, and then this is a simple rule to save some otherwise wasted energy that tak

I've done a bit of unscientific plugging and unplugging ;-) The TV box is using 15ish watts so that's a bit part. My router + fiber termination point are using 18W continuous, but that's not included in this 35, they're

The author acts as if it's all bullshit, but actual measurements in my house disagree. I have a new (2021) 4k "sky box" from my ISP, a relatively new Android TV (2020), a PS4, a Logitech Harmony hub and a lan switch plugged i

It's not about Amazon ratings (stars) on the site, it's about album sales numbers for the "top 100" kind of lists. So they can't really take that back after an album has been top seller in a certain week.

I had an i5 9600k that ran 5ghz all cores, and swapped to the i7 12700k. The i7 is still a lot faster out of the box and I undervolted it a bit while running at 5.1 ghz so it's also very quiet.

Thanks. It's unfortunate that is has to be so polarised. In the end a more inclusive society is good for everyone, but if your only options are "fuck yourself over" vs "avoid all progress" then not a lot of good is

The Cirrus Vision jet is a very different market, that's made for owners that want to fly it themselves. They made it for hobby pilots that learn in the SR20/SR22 and then upgrade to the jet. It is designed to make that transition

I've seen several cases here where going from 40 to 32 hours to have time for kids (very very common in NL) has kept the same or better productivity. Of course those were all desk jobs, where it's not about exactly how many hours
