Compare to Deno, which also makes JS friendlier for shell scripting! https://deno.land/ Coming from Deno, the single biggest advantage I see here is the handy tag function $: await $`cat package.json | grep name` H

Btw, would swallowing the AirTag whole be just as dangerous? They're water resistant, but I'm assuming that they won't stay sealed in stomach conditions.

Crypto is valuable only if we believe it is. Once we discover a way to transmit money that has benefits over crypto, we'll gradually move to that, the same way transactions that felt limited by fiat moved to crypto.

I see a lot of affiliations mentioned in the page, and I think I might be missing some context. What's the relationship between the author (Chris Jeris) and the OCF user hosting the content (Abhishek Roy)? Also, what is Chicago in the

The iMac is an all-in-one, so I don't think many people will be adding their own speakers (might as well get a Mac Mini at that point). I think most users will use the jack for wired headphones, in which case having it on the side make

I can't find the link, but I read an interesting argument that the USD is more wasteful of natural resources than Bitcoin because its value is indirectly backed by the US military.

Requiring a pin to switch it off might just cause someone to invent a device that can be inserted into the Lightning port to cause a shutdown without affecting the for-parts resale value of the phone. (For example, the device could cause a

Reminds me of osquery! Looks like osquery can also be used for file searching, but it's not as optimized for command-line usage. https://blog.kolide.com/the-file-table-in-osquery-is-amazing...

Apple made Macs UNIX developer-friendly (2001) before they switched to x86 (2005), so they have a good chunk of non-hypothetical past data to look at. Really hoping this means they won't screw this up.

In the US, separation of powers is an important concept. I think the reasoning is that if you give parts of the government extra authority beyond what's necessary for them to do their jobs, the damage due to some of them abusing that p

If it seems obvious and yet people are still joining the mafia, then there's probably something we're not understanding about the dynamics at play. People don't wake up and decide they want to join the mafia.
