Elon Musk probably understands this, as in the other half of his days, he's running SpaceX that can successfully return first stages in one piece.

InfluxDB _seems_ to be less stable, and also their monetization strategy might not appeal to some. I also appreciate the pull-style operation more and more (vs. the push-based operation of InfluxDB).

You can escape from this it you want. I'm mostly on ketogenic diet now, no sugar whatsoever and only minimal carbs-- I'm just leaving for a 20k run, and most probably I won't be hungry when I return.

There are other stuff you can store on the left/right sides, especially when it's a documentation site. Typically a nice hierarchical ToC.

Oh no. It pops up a quick menu when I select text, like Medium. The problem is that I'm constantly selecting the lines I'm reading. :( Edit: Also, it's extremely narrow. On my 32" 4K display, 70% of the screen is empty.

Why would keto be a bad idea? Genuine question. A friend of mine just run a 54k mountain track (2600m elevation) after 7 months keto. I have barely eaten carbs for 2 weeks now, and just cycled 120 km two days ago.

Don't mix up data and map design. Google maps is great because the data is unique, but I personally prefer other designs and think that Google Maps has very bad UX.

Look at Here maps. It is a much better designed map, from a cartography perspective.

Note: Ben Graham wrote about all these decades ago. (It doesn't make this article less true, etc. -- just if you're interested in these basic rules of investing, then read 'The Intelligent Investor'.)

This is true for every single popular OS though -- Windows, iOS, Android. Not that it's good, just that's the reality.

My potential use case: run the IDE on the host (Windows UI is fast, font rendering is great), but use git, etc. from the Linux command line (to get file permissions, etc. right).

I can confirm that you can run (at least some) GUI apps if you start an X server on Windows (like Xming, etc.), and export DISPLAY.

What about file permissions? If I can develop on a native IDE running on Windows and share files with a Linux VM (or anything running Docker) without screwing up file permissions, then I'm on.

OneNote stores the notebooks in simple files -- sharing is done through Onedrive. It's very-very unlikely that suddenly and without warning Microsoft 1) encodes your notebooks in some unreadable format 2) stops the service.

Can some Docker employee explain how are file permissions going to work on Windows? For me, that's the biggest pain (on Win).

I think I have a rusty, almost 5 year old PC lying around. It has an Intel i7-2600K overclocked to 4.6 GHz, 24 GB RAM, 240G SSD and a Radeon 6950 GPU that can run most games well in fHD. Most of the machines Apple sells are actually slower

Uh, the comparison with Jira is really odd. Especially that the stuff that it lists as the negatives of Jira are actually the _strengths_ of Jira. Jira is unopinionated, you can basically do everything what you want with it.

Reverse your thinking. Think of a business that's dependent on MSSQL -- now they can run in on Linux, and also, they won't need to think about DB server migration. Many businesses are gravitating towards Linux on the server for ma
