Driving in general is. We can argue about specifics, you just made up 103 mph number but that's an acceptable speed on Autobahn. The core argument is: Do we want 0 deaths? If so, what is acceptable number of deaths? And I shed light on

Acceptable trade off. Driving and transportation are fundamental to economic growth. We should however enforce laws of speeding. Not through tyrannical measures like this though. You can’t say “I want a DIY culture” but also “it’s unlawful

I agree but the irony is strong here. Criticize dismissal of politicians and then proceed to do exactly just that.

We can put entire humanity's electronic items and plastic in a dump with minimal environmental impact. Focus on bigger ticket items. The elephants in the room.

Speak for yourself. I prefer a smaller phone with non replaceable battery. I don’t ever want to DIY my phone. I don’t care about repair. I’d prefer iPhone for this reason: it’s a highly optimized device from packaging standpoint and vertica

What if I am fine with this minimal amount of waste? All the greenwashing by Apple and other companies does not reflect the actual material damage of the environment. Just like recycling doesn’t always make sense and it is highly situationa

I remember last year’s zeitgeist that after 75% of the people are fired, Twitter will stop working. It works even better now. And they’ve added lots of features. Not a fan of the new branding, but I prefer free speech and community notes ov

Yeah this I’ve seen everywhere, but more related to the company size. In a 50 employee company, it’s hard to pull that off. As organizations get larger, you get this as inevitable part of human nature. If the salary table is flat, then high

Can you show us where exactly is OP’s comment indicative of a “celebration”? They’re simply citing examples.

Pretty much all progressive policies of SF have been a total and utter disaster. While Asian countries adopt Capitalism, we're here nibbling our way into full blown communism–intermediary stage being socialism.

VAT is literally the reason for sluggish EU growth. 20% tax prempts many buyers from purchasing the good in the first place. We should do the exact opposite of VAT taxation.

It’s crazy that so many people are duped by a political slogan 40 years old and still going strong. SSE has both pros and cons. It’s far more nuanced than that.

It's cool that they have $$$ to spend on stuff like this. I think we should encourage it if it doesn't make their products worse. This thing is decoration. It's useless. And that's why it's fine.
