This has certainly whetted my appetite for a deeper dive - what's a good book on the history of Windows (or even Microsoft), from the earliest days up until at least Windows 95?

Perhaps I was too cavalier in my original comment, but when I said building tools built on open source software, I meant leveraging things like Matano (matano.dev). So you’re not writing everything from scratch but you are responsible for w

Tools like Nessus and Burpsuite Pro are not the ones I'm talking about. Go take a look at the CSPM or CASB or CNAPP space and check the costs on some of these tools.

It's got a lot of things to work out and improve on, but I assume that will come in time. It feels like the launch was rushed by a month or two to take advantage of the horrific start to July that Twitter has had. Brands seem incredibl

I agree, but I really wish I could've seen the spectacle if they had been able to launch this past weekend. Twitter is still in rough shape, but it was flat out non-functional on Saturday, which is one of its busiest days of the year (

I don't think anybody is suggesting elimination of all synchronous meetings from a workday. There should just be preference given to long, uninterrupted blocks of time where deep work can be done. Many teams even have a single day of t

They likely don't want third party apps at all, but this is the method they thought would be more palatable than just coming out and saying that. They want to control the experience end-to-end, like Twitter and Discord.

I feel like this solution was designed for someone who is going to snap two windows just one time and work with them for several hours at a time, if not the rest of the day. Whereas I am constantly needing to snap different windows together

This is a huge draw in PC gaming. People love going back to old games and modding them or updating them to run better. Heck, didn't Portal (a 2007 game) just get an RTX update?
