Same. I've been loving it as well. I've had the 15" MBP since December, and it took a week or two to get used to the keyboard, but once it happened, I haven't looked back. It was weird at first, but now I rarely even thi

Thanks for the response. I'll definitely keep that in mind as I pick a specialty. I'm only a med student right now, but I have spent a year rotating through all of the most common specialties. I have to say that the culture you de

Can you go into more detail about this? I'm currently a medical student in the US near the end of my training, and I'm weighing multiple specialties (including ED). From my personal experience in the ED, it's actually the bes

Obviously I don't know all the details of your story, but I'm still a little skeptical. Yes, there are likely doctors out there that do believe they're too good to get water for patients, but I haven't worked with any li

I'm not totally convinced your story with the cup of water was an ego related issue. The workflow of doctors in the hospital is complicated, and different doctors and nurses have different privileges for different patients, which can m

It's not necessarily an ego or union thing. It's more of a protocol thing. The nurse needs to know what papers have been signed and generally where the patients are in terms of paperwork. I'm a medical student, and I've

It's an analogous situation to last week's news about Apple banning self-updating apps in the App Store and Rollout.io's business model. Except that had the opposite outcome.

The comment I replied to specifically referred to the top 10%. The bottom 90% definitely aren't all receiving welfare. A $500 minimum for a Scottrade IRA account should be easily achievable for most in the bottom 90%.

Exactly. I've seen this article and similar ones pop up on Hacker News and Reddit before, and lots of people make comments similar to those in this thread. Literally anyone can invest in the market.

I don't understand. Anyone can invest in the market. There's no minimum income barrier. In fact, the bottom 90% should be investing in the market for the long term through 401k and IRA plans. Putting your savings into a relatively

Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) isn't due to an immunocompromised state. That happens in normal people who get measles. It's rare in adults that contract measles, but much more common in kids that get it. A similar dise

Some experts in the field think that we've improved our ability to diagnose autism and diagnose it early (as this article also mentions). That's been one explanation for the increase in autism diagnoses. I agree that genetics prob

Measles itself likely won't kill many people. Hoever, measles can turn into subacute sclerosing panencephalitis later in life, which is very lethal.

Yeah, I'm having similar issues. Also having issues with multiple monitors. For some reason, one of the monitors will just flicker on and off or won't register at all.

Most of the hate I see on the keyboard is from people who've only spent a few minutes on it. After a few days you get used to it and don't even think twice about it. I've regularly measured my typing speed with my old retina

I think this situation is a little different and more complex than the examples you're comparing. I've worked in a NICU, and I've seen that many of the babies in it stay for several months at a time. Keeping these babies aliv

With macOS Sierra you can natively remap Esc to Caps Lock (or CMD, Alt, Ctrl). I think a lot of people already did this before. I just tried it out yesterday with Vim, and I find it way more convenient than Esc.
