I just set static IPs for important things and put them in my domain. There's also MDNS although most of the MDNS responders are pretty fat for what they do. I tried hacking some basic MDNS stuff into busybox a few years ago but never

I'm not convinced it's an improvement over ballistic delivery with some kind of elastomere faring.

Oh neat, isn't that the parent to the company running Matrix? (for anyone that freaked out, you should have been using XMPP.)

Requiring a license to run LTE base stations is a disaster. Zero of the carriers are managing their infrastructure in any way resembling competence and responsibility and most of them probably couldn't even tell you how bad it is becau

I'm sorry you got downvoted, it's a reasonable question to ask and I would have voted it up if my noprocrast hadn't run out.

That's the way its treated though; everyone assumes you don't know what you're doing if you haven't been to university because there's some top-secret stuff there that you couldn't have possibly found somewhere

Media companies make money entirely by selling ideas to you (this is what the "advertisement industry" is.) When you're scared and depressed its easiest to sell things to you or change your mind, unfortunately you're bes

Yikes!! What are they going to do when the shortage ends? They'll have a bunch of loans with little collateral.

The people paying the highest tuition are on student visas with similar constraints. I totally forgot about that, foreign tuition is an even larger profit motive to restrict distance learning.

The alternatives are left and right respectively. They're more clear because left and right are usually relative to the speaker or listener who may be facing each other and are often moving around.

The whole thing is built to export moderation to an external service. It's a bit creepy IMO.

Leaving a job is easier than leaving a University IMO. Most don't accept transfers (especially when you've gotten to the 300/400 level classes.)

Yeah, webcams are prohibitively expensive for a University. No. This is because remote learning makes these institutions obsolete and they're going to continue throwing their reputation around to try to prevent that.

Institutions like this are profitable because of the status quo. Recorded lectures and remote learning threaten them to a great degree and they might not be able to afford all those overpaid administrators. Go ahead and try to find Stanford

You're always consuming someone else's software on it though. Being able to rip out and re-implement even parts of your OS gives you a radically different view of computers than the one you get from an OS that doesn't even le

Burn it all down. If you can't understand the theory and reimplement it then you shouldn't even look at it. The internet is full of pathological wizards and witches. Come here for obscure books but otherwise stay far away.
