One big difference between IRL art and computer art is in the breadth (bandwidth?) of the process. IRL art process is a subtle thing. Analog, fuzzy and mysterious. Computer art process is crass and pinhole-narrow in comparison.

Only a few rules are necessary for complexity. In ALife systems (Conway etc). In Fractals (Mandelbrot etc). In random number generation (Mersenne Twister etc) Maybe, in the big picture, complexity is trivial to create.

A victim has a lot of power though. A victim suffers. You aren't allowed to question a claim of suffering. Therefore a claim of suffering is an axiom. Axioms are the foundation of (a certain kind of) reality.

So electrons aren't actually moving from one place to another?

That's fabulous man, but it doesn't actually answer my question. If the answer is yes then we have moving electrons. If the answer is no then maybe we don't.

Does the thing at one end of the wire get heavier and the thing at the other end lighter? Because of the mass of the electrons moved from one thing to the other.

From a meditation point of view, reading is all about the concentration. You concentrate your attention upon the reading process. IE you concentrate on the sight of the words on the page, a little translation algorithm/habit in your m

It's a gradient. On one end it's invisible. On the other end it literally flays the flesh off your bones with offensiveness. These filters that we're creating are a tool for tuning the feed. We'll want that when we reall

No NSFW images as far as I can see. I suppose creating a filter is just part of the long road of development, but dang, such a petty cause. I might not want to be on that project, unless of course the money was good.

If the criteria for truth is a convincing argument, and we have a machine for generating convincing arguments to fit anything, and analyzing the argument is too much trouble, then what?

I agree. Rationality is invariably a rationalization of gut and emotion and such. A wrapper of symbols so we can think and talk about it. And justify our conclusions.

I was writing pretty cool stuff in c64 basic when I was 10. Just write it (on the dirt-primitive text editor) and run. This seems relatively troublesome.
