Yep - Profit and loss are pretty much meaningless while investors are still willingly to fling cash at them faster then they can spend it.

Isn't starlink for people in 3rd world countries found in Africa, Asia and the Midwest? This chap is living in North Hollywood, he should expect a cheap/fast wired connection in 2021.

I'm all for progress but... Why? What possible use could an end user have for a 4gbit connect? The router alone is going to set you back a few hundred bucks.

I have no data but i imagine 95%+ of the reddit user base provide no engagement (lurking only) or want to stay anonymous. That must heavily influence the quality and worth of any data Zuck would want to suck out of Reddit.

That's weird... All the geo-related subs for my country are full of angsty socialist children or camped and permanently set to private.

I imagine because the data gained is such low value. I need to maintain three or four different semi-fully anonymous accounts just to make the site bearable.

Agreed, and it isn't a static thing defined at birth by nature, it can change backwards and forwards over a lifetime. Not sure why i'm getting a hard time from our co-commenters. I assumed this place being primarily US and Tech it

An innate desire to form an atypical pairing in a non-reproductive fashion. Honestly i have no idea but this might be one of the last places left on the internet you can ask a question like this without getting dogpiled. I've batted fo

With weapons distributed amongst all USSR holdings this implies the US was willing to nuke everything from Poland to north Vietnam.

> in 1985 the USA had 21,000+ nuclear weapons, USSR 39,000+. This is one of the facts from this era which seems completely irrational to me. Considering the damage each one of these devices can do why do you need so many. Lets presume yo

The issue is when? If that takes several weeks or months in a highly volatile market its basically life or doing a flip.

"Democracies" are perfectly capable of doing evil things very efficiently as well. Lets not pretend the last 70 years have been all sunshine and roses with democracy being spread by force around the world.

If only you had some form of centralised health infrastructure to help co-ordinate this program. Didn't some US politician try this not too long ago?

1.8% is pretty good compared to the rest of the EU right? I'm still not sure why a lot of countries started so late or so slowly. Still, like a lot of things, the last 20% is magnitudes harder then the first 20%. Finishing vaccination

How does US state security compensation compare to the UK? I've looked at GCHQ a number of times and always found their compensation packages to be 20% below market rates for the same skill set. Anyone have a comparison point?
