You probably need to install a more recent version of Node.js. That's one of the first things mentioned.

I don't understand. The Figwheel REPL does exactly that + hot loading. I use Figwheel with Cursive - works great.

If I'm on an engineering team that's using Dart or TypeScript I'm not going to lean on functional programming patterns the way I would if I was on a team using ClojureScript. Idioms matter when you're working on producti

Thanks for the kind words but I do think ClojureScript is much, much bigger than Om Next :) People are succeeding with many different approaches - Reagent, Rum, Hoplon, etc. all have enthusiastic, active user bases and for good reason. Whil

Far less glamorous and way more old school, it's the later case - GWT can compile Java to JavaScript.

No, ClojureScript has been bootstrappable since late summer 2015. Everything already runs in JavaScript. It's just that now the final optional optimization pass can also run in JavaScript.

Nothing. Zero benefits here for typical usage of ClojureScript. Potentially interesting for 3rd party bootstrap efforts like Planck, Lumo, etc.

Comparing C and Makefiles and `npm init` just doesn't make any sense to me. For something in style of the former (i.e. no real dependency management) you have the ClojureScript Quick Start - download a JAR & make a build script, do

On modern hardware Clojure starts in under a second. I write simple support scripts in Clojure all the time.

Compiling trivial programs with ClojureScript is equally trivial: java -cp cljs.jar clojure.main -e '(require (quote [cljs.build.api :as b])) (b/build (quote [(ns foo) (js/console.log "Hello world!")]) {:optim

:compiler-stats has been a thing for a while now. This would give more information - like how much time in ClojureScript vs. advanced compilation. Also the compiler version matters - 1.7.170 is what you want to use. Otherwise you may need :

Yeah just doesn't sound plausible to me. I've seen bigger projects take less than a minute on a 2014 desktop. For big prod builds you'll definitely want to give the JVM at least 1gb of RAM, make sure you actually override Lei

5 minutes for a 15KLOC project seems pretty strange to me unless you're building on a machine with very limited CPU/RAM. Make sure you're giving the JVM enough RAM. Also the next release of ClojureScript supports parallel bui

I'm very curious how you're coming up with your Uglify performance claims on this thread for a near 4MLOC JS codebase. I just tried Uglify on 6mb of ClojureScript generated JavaScript (it's nowhere near 4MLOC) and it takes ne
