I'm bull Epic too, but honestly, I don't care about the quality differences. The main thing Epic has going for them that Unity does not is it's diverse marketing channels. They are becoming huge in the cinematic, and broadc

Reminds me of a program I read about a while ago in Iraq. Planes would circle cities with a camera and some huge hard drives installed. If an IED went off they would rewind the tapes, and watch every stop the people who planted it went th

I really wish google had public data for something like average page number or something similar for a search term. We have data for what people are searching for, but its hard to determine how successful people are in finding what they&#x

This kind of feels like a test run of Modern Monetary Theory. I guess once we have a vaccine, and the full effect of all this stimulus settles, we might find out if our fears are warranted or not.

These firms specialized in digital transformation. But the digital transformation is over, now its the digital cleanup. The companies that understood the benefits of digital technology moved to it, and the majority of the others went out

Curious, does Stripe have a "Get the kids to take up smoking strategy" or do startups drop Stripe generally once they reach a certain size?

Here is someone on Twitter who has been building some, albeit toys, using the tool. It seems pretty powerful: https://twitter.com/jsngr I found this to be very impressive: https://twitter.com/jsngr/sta

Writing a highly niche book like this, probably compensates you more in the "exposure" side of things (i realize that word has negative connotations now, but it is a real thing). I have to imagine consulting gigs would go up. And

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I don't really use Windows any more... so i'm not super familiar with how things work today. With the new Linux subsystem, does Windows even need separate support for PHP anymore?

This feels like capping extortion. The real problem in my opinion is the delivery apps masquerading under a restaurants name online, and then then charging for it. When I order online, I have no idea if i'm ordering from the restaura

OP has a point. The NY Times recently began a process of shedding their ideals of objectivity too. They claim the views and inclinations of whiteness are accepted as the objective neutral. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/

You don't need every tool. There are multiple ways to get the same job done. There are some things I'd consider essentials. A table saw, drill, some decent chisels, and maybe a #5 plane. And you can get pretty far with that.

I think you misunderstood my intention. I don't go into the hiring process explicitly thinking about the ideal hire from an age/sex/race point of view. I look for a series of soft skills, because I personally believe it

"The fact that they are probably right just adds to the pain." 100% true. It's the dichotomy of leadership. Typically in engineering environments, the debate will be to take a risk or not. Risks can have rewards, but they

I find myself biasing towards older devs. The old guys tend to trend towards reliable tech, reliable architectures. They're done playing around. They have families at home, so they want to get the work done... and go home. They do

In my brief time trying out Unity (as a non-game-developer) I found the programming paradigm very frustrating. I wanted a more object oriented approach. But what I found was to get things to work in a performant way, you'd end up wit
