My money is that outside of a couple of dog and pony demos with everyone on one well-administered LAN you could not make this work with system time and NTP on consumer devices. You will regularly see 100ms difference in NTP time. The fact t

Each individual fiber, which is a fraction of a cubic mm in cross sectional area, can provide this much bandwidth in a fairly trivial low-cost configuration. Cables like the one pictured carry many of these fibers.

B2C and B2B are completely different when it comes to moats. If I can save 20% of my data center costs and cut a price-gouging vendor while bringing the solution in-house at a big tech org I am a hero. Consumers won’t buy a Surface because

You’ll have to provide a lot more context for this to be believable. Maybe it is an unrealistic goal for animals who aren’t interested in having a stable global population.

Fiber is not targeted at a volume/consumer market, yet. That’s the primary reason it isn’t cheaper, but it is still pretty cheap, and has the potential to be cheaper than copper. I’m confused by your whole sentiment. They said use fibe

There are few things more American than the passage you just quoted. It is about a fan of an aging stoner/rapper talking to a Wal-Mart employee about the fact that he wants cereal.
