Same. I got put in StackOverflow jail for posting my contribution an answer because I didn't have enough karma to post a comment on a previous answer (or maybe it was the other way around, I forget). Never mind that I was earnestly try

Everything went downhill once people had real incentive (like actual money, not just internet cred) to game the system for reputation points. The mods had to come up with ever-evolving layers of rules on top of rules that lowered the answer

I take Uber to LAX and cab home. Cabs are significantly cheaper than Uber now.

San Francisco taxis were the worst. It was impossible to get a cab on Friday and Saturday nights, and they always blocked any attempts to add more cabs to the roads. I have zero sympathy for them.

I love that we're still finding new stuff about the universe all the time. I've watched every episode of How the Universe Works multiple times. I get super excited for a new season to find out all the new things scientists have le

I helped program this site almost 20 years ago. It's fun stumbling across your old code still running online. The idea was to license the LUNA software to other image collections. I think NASA used it for a bit but that was about it. T

The problem is most of these pros were high-priced consultants who left as soon as the project finished. On top of that some of the stuff they built was a huge dark gray box to us for years.

We had a huge project with about 20 devs that went on for a year and a half. We brought in a bunch of consultants. The leads basically spent all day herding cats, and all night coding. We all agreed we probably could have done it in half th

This is all Federalist Society (which is still ostensibly non-partisan lol) networking. What they're doing is one of the great political scandals of our time, and hardly anyone knows about it.

But the point is it wouldn't be as easy for an untrained person to kill as many people at once as it is now, and cops wouldn't be as terrified to go up against the killer as they are now when they know an AR is in play.
