I ignored the show Expedition Unknown forever, thinking it was another one of these kinds of shows. But it's actually really cool and fact-based (except for the ghost/monster chasing spin off of the same name - why Josh, why?).

The Milky Way is only 100k light years across. So one of those two things can't be true. The article says: "N6946-BH1 is in a galaxy 22 million light-years away". So it's a different galaxy.

This is the first I've heard of this scandal. I'm curious what the major problems were with the software that caused the discrepancies. Dropped connections? Wikipedia didn't go into much detail with that. Ok I found this: ht

Yeah most people don't realize their iPhone is already "photoshopping" the heck out of their image.

Unfortunately Instagram has become the primary vector for photographers to get their work out there, and the small size basically demands flashy over the top editing to get anyone's attention.

So many software devs seem to have this attitude that the customer (internal or external) should just shut up and be happy with whatever they've been given. I've often felt that many devs could benefit from a stint waiting tables

I love this kind of stuff. When you're sure the thing that seems to be happening couldn't possibly be happening, and then you find out that literally the speed of light is coming into play. We had a similar problem at one of my fi

It's not outside the realm of possibility that life on earth might have been seeded from other alien life either intentionally, or by viruses or bacteria hitching a ride on meteorites.

A perfect example of this absurdity is expressing mock excitement: "ZOMG!1!!one1!" Spelling out the one kills me every time.

It's a great deal for Tim. He never has to work overtime to deliver something, and never has to fix bugs on stuff he built. That said I believe the author that Tim was a huge net positive.
