I feel like it's not pushed back, it's swiped under the rug. Is it surprising that the bulldog climbs from under the rug on the other side eventually?

If I was a future historian - or a machine intelligence documenting the past based on mindless alignment with a long-gone humanity - I would feel very empathetic towards a common centrist like myself. Politically, I feel completely alone. T

A semi-relevant anecdote: over the Christmas break (which was > 2 weeks for me), I was pouring 12-14 hours a day into my personal hobby project and didn’t feel tired or bored at all. I literally couldn’t stop working on it. Now that I’m

What is the reason to believe that LLMs are an evolutionary step towards AGI at all? In my mind there is a rather large leap from estimating a conditional probability of a next token over some space to a conscious entity with its own goals

There a plenty of non-ad-driver services that allow hosting blogs for free. Github, cloudfare’s free tier, and many others - and you can certainly find a one-click vm deployment of a blogging platform for less then 5$. I believe this implie

Calibre library syncs perfectly across devices via dropbox / any other cloud storage. Can't see why this wouldn't just work with a shared cloud folder as well. This also has an added benefit that the books are available for d

My grandma has turned 95 this year. She still works in a research institute (ex-USSR) every day, writing numerical simulations in Fortran and Maple. Her colleagues still don't want her to retire, and she postpones that every year. Her

This can fit into a Macbook Pro with integrated memory. With all the recent development in the world of local llms I regret I settled for only 24Gb RAM on my laptop - but the 13b models work great.
