I suspect all other potential GPU providers are sweating right now to get in bed with OpenAI and their tech. I'm sure they can land a good deal if they tried.

"Open"AI indeed was, and is, ironic, but in reality, MS acquisition of Altman and co is not going to change anything for anybody besides a bunch of California socialites. Not sure what sort of democratisation you are referring to,

OpenAI can also jump ship and get a nice deal with amazon or google. In fact, right now they are ripe for the taking.

That's a lot of code to be purged, even for a superintelligent AI.

I did look it up, but the way the OP was formed I thought that is some secret underground forum I just am not able to find.

I vaguely remember you can do this in pulseaudio, so technically you can stream nextflix from a linux box to a tv over hdmi. Maybe.

I suspect that this: > It did take setting a couple environment variables, no GUI method , which is unknown to almost anyone, would scare an absolute majority of non-technical folk away. Even if what mullvad does is relatively small in s

Not the case for me at all. Pop/mass-culture music sucks, but that is an opinion that didn't change for me since I was 16.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I'll definitely take a look, although at this point I am so comfortable with Snakemake, it is a bit hard to imagine what would convince me to move to another tool. But I like the idea of composable pipe

> It's been a while since you can rerun/resume Nextflow pipelines Yes, you can resume, but you need your whole upstream DAG to be present. Snakemake can rerun a job when only the dependencies of that job are present, which allo

Not really, I am not a big enthusiast of all that stuff to put it mildly - just saying that’s what prople usually mean by life extension these days.

I suspect OP means life extension through directly targeting the nmolecular mechanisms of aging - "Howarth's clock", telomerases, transcription factors etc.

I develop bioinformatics pipelines for a living and am very opinionated on the topic. Having enough experience with snakemake as well as nextflow in production for many years now, I would always opt out for snakemake for anything but extrem

I wonder - why isn't Arch the one distro to rule them all - especially if we talk about rolling release? I was distro hoping since 2008 - Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Centos, Fedora, Mint, Slack - you name it. When I found Arch, after a couple of

How would they connect search results to an individual? Surely, a simple VPN, which is a basic internet hygene these days, prevents that.

Very few people actually need unlimited searches. I search things compulsively - for example, while searching for something related to language A, my mind makes me search for the same thing in languages B and C, what happened to the last du

That's a great approach. I used xmonad for a while and switched to i3wm recently. At work, where I have to use mac, I replicated my i3 setup using yabai + skxd - that plus Emacs makes using osX almost bearable.

I don't think this requires any special competency to be confident of. What you need to answer when reading a CV is a) is there any evidence of relevant work experience and education, and b) is the resume properly formatted and contain

You don't need to reed resumes carefully. I do a lot of hiring, and it takes around 30 seconds to classify which bin should a resume go.

Not necessarily true. I don't find his books boring, but I activelly don't like them. Dostoevsky to me is a reactionary, a regressive religious ideologue to the core - despite all the psychoanalysis.

In the end, I feel like there is a silver lining to all this. As the world wide web becomes more sanitised with their codes of conduct, corporate censorship, ads, witch hunts, all these limitations - more and more, I hope, would the valuabl
