If the online hate doesn't translate into physical violence and security threats - than, at least for me, the answer is a simple 'yes'. I would be surprised to find out if it isn't the case for but a statistically small

I'm exactly the same; I also don't have anything 'visual' in my head at all - no images, shapes, or similar - only words, or music.

Is bodily autonomy a recognized right in any sense? Is there a society that actually respects the right to bodily autonomy legally or in practice - meaning, using any drugs at will, the right to suicide, to agree to being eaten by a friendl

Well, different people want different things - I'd rather spend a millisecond to click 'refuse' rather than let them track me - out of spite if nothing else. Yes, cookie banners are annoying; the dark patterns within cookie b

This completely ignores issues like food addiction (which is a hell of a drug - some of the, say, top obesity candidate genes are expressed in brain), an overabundance of sugar in the diet, and lack of anything that resembles a decent food

I would't store company data or code outside of approval services, but one might say that my notes, including notes on the people I meet and projects I work on, can constitute proprietary information - so yeah, it is a bit of a grey ar

Not the OP, but personal files are not just vacation pictures. I work in R&D and I have my org-mode/roam on various scientific and technical topics going back 15 years or so. I use these for work to benefit my current company, and

While tinkering for the sake of tinkering is as good of a hobby as any other, the process of tailoring your OS's does not have to be infinite. Maybe it is different for others, but while I did spent a lot of time on writing my Linux do

I am somewhat like that myself. I do formulate a plan and break down tasks in advance, but I give myself an absolute right to change and modify it at will whenever new ideas come to light or just because I'm feeling like it.

Stalingard was a trap for the 6th Army, which was beyond overextended and undersupplied. I have a strong prior that giving up Stalingrad and allowing Germans and their allies to resupply would've caused even more causalties, especially

I suspect that's due to the misleading nature of the 'public research, privitized profits' trope. The reality is that publically-funded biomedical (for the lack of better word) science does not generate anything production-re

It's a shame, really, that we live in a world where a way to show the finger to all these corporate guardrails exists and is easily available - but it cannot get enough traction and receives a strong, and I think unnecessary, cultural

I can really recommend yabai for window management. I have reached a nearly identical config between my work mac with yabai/xkhd and my i3wm-based linux workstation.

I did that (moved to a Scandinavian country), and it was an undeniably poor choice from a financial perspective - or rather a chain of poor choices that looked correct at the time. Paying almost 40% of my income that is rather low by global

I don't see myself doing millions of tasks on 70b+ models. Work pays for more gpt4 that I can chew; I can run up to 30b models on my mac with a decent speed, and I can use mistral APIs when I travel without powering my own home server.
