It ought to only allow one message per IP address, then things would get interesting.

If you don’t want to trust anyone with your DNS data, you should run Unbound or Knot resolver alongside Pi-hole. Cloudflare is one of the world's largest networks, and a problem for anonymity and decentralization.

And (as you might expect) Cloudflare collects and saves data from the test.

Gifs suck as a user interface. It’s not just the huge file size, they also - Must load entirely before playing (whereas video formats can load as they play) - Don’t show any progress/buffering icon while they load, so it just looks lik

I’m curious - why use uMatrix over uBo’s medium mode? I feel like it’s a lot more effort for only a small benefit in privacy.

Also note that these design changes affect the desktop extension as well.

There was a thread a few days ago that showed it’s trivial to de-anonymize a device based on location history. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=23136612

I don’t understand how connecting to the stationary device helps if you still have to connect to the cell towers.

I run Unbound alongside Pi-Hole. I’m not familiar with all the features of OPNsense, but pi-hole is convenient because it - automatically updates the block lists each week - supports regex filters - has a admin web interface which makes it

In order to connect to the VPN, you must connect to the cell towers, which reveals your location. And no matter how many burner phones you use, as soon as you visit your home address, your identity is compromised.

I’m not sure if Google would sell user’s location data to advertisers since Google is an advertiser. But they definitely record it for themselves, and the government has access to it as well.

The article assumes that the location data must have been collected because he gave an app permission to access his location. I bet they couldn’t figure out which app it was because it wasn’t an app. Cell service providers can and do tr

Netflix stores their data on AWS (and probably spends more money than Walmart on it). Amazon could use that money to improve Amazon Prime Video (which competes directly with Netflix).

That’s pretty neat! Do you plan on open sourcing it? I’m hesitant to trust an application with my pi-hole api token (and with it, all of my browsing/network data).
