Not sure what country you live in, but’s it pretty hard to game this. You have a fixed number of weeks. And it’s pretty hard to fake having a baby. People should get the same benefits even if they plan to quit after, which would address the

On the whole though you’d expect less people to have enough money to be an early stage VC during a recesssion. I think those that can afford it will definitely be looking for opportunities.

Fun fact: until the STOCK act was passed in 2012 there was nothing restricting insider trading by Congress. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/STOCK_Act

Unfortunately many of the best jobs are in CA and other high tax states (additional income tax, sales tax, etc.) where it starts becoming much closer. Also unclear if that link takes into account family transfers like the original link.

When living and working in Canada I was surprised that taxes were pretty much the same as what I’d pay in California. OECD data seems to back that up. https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.huffingtonpost.ca/amp/

Yes medicine is complicated, but I question whether a general purpose search engine, searching potentially untrustworthy or out of date medical information, is the best tool for diagnosis.

The two times I used One Medical, me and the doctor just ended up googling my symptoms together. Don’t have a lot of confidence in their staff. It’s a nice idea though, although concierge care like this probably pushes health care costs eve

No public option from what I know. Insurance is all private, Swiss require no profits while Netherlands allows for profit. Government subsidies and restrictions exist on the plans, similar to Obamacare.
