The larger point was that incentives flip as soon as you become a homeowner. As a renter, you are hoping for housing prices to go down and would like to see this happen via increased housing supply, deregulation, or even a local economic do

Great business, great model, simply overvalued (expectations exceeded reality). Probably a winner in the long run IMO.

The Visa fee of 1-3% is too expensive in the internet era. It made sense 50 years ago when cost of moving information was high, but now it's just rent seeking.

Exactly, this is why the stateless-ness is such a drawback to adoption. Because Venezuelan gov't knows that its people would prefer to transact in a more stable currency and try to convert from the bolívar to btc. And the gov't wi

Agreed, it would be cool if we could specify untyped zones within a function e.g. @untyped func parse(json: AnyObject) -> String? { /* code here is not type checked, if returned value is not type String then value will become nil

Agreed server side swift will be awesome. My only complaint is that JSON parsing is kind of a major pain. Libraries like Argo and SwiftyJSON help, but code can still get really verbose.

Fair point, but the company bringing us self-driving cars started off as a glorified search company selling ads on the side. Maybe we should give these companies some time to mature, build a recurring cash base, and replow that back into co

I agree with your general sentiment, but I feel like your examples are wrong. Uber has fundamentally reshaped how we view and consume transportation. With the addition of self-driving cars, it has the potential to utterly reshape logistics.
