A planetary/life theory suggests Jupiter and Saturn are the protectors of the inner planets. These huge gas giants capture large solid masses whizzing around in space and either swallow those masses or turn them into moons. Without the

I love seeing insane units like this in the press. Dishwashers, giraffes, bowling balls, etc. Americans will measure in anything but the metric system.

I really wish they'd just publish the official Flatpak and stop duplicating effort like this. A large number of Debian people don't want to install packages which aren't from the Debian repos, even if those packages are from

One of those "presentation" mouses would hopefully do? They're a mouse but you hold them in your hand and wave them around to move the pointer, like a Wiimote but they pre-date the Wii. The mouse pointer part sucks in my expe

No h264? Useless to me. I'll stick with my Pi 4, and will replace them with a NUC or Ryzen mini PC when the time comes.

AMD have their problems too. Nobody likes to talk about the insane NPS configuration or the models where some cores have good L3 cache and some don't. These cause real problems which are very difficult to diagnose. I know this because

Gosh, people still use Windows? :P The 6th gen laptop darling was the i5-6200U which has 4 thread (dual core) CPU. I have an Asus Zenbook with one of those and unless I want to compile a kernel in a hurry it's still perfectly functio

I upgraded from a 2500K (2011 CPU) to a 12400F solely because the motherboard had started to go flaky and wouldn't power on unless it had warmed up. The CPU was fine for what I do but nobody sells new LGA1155 motherboards anymore. (at
