The government should just pay them for their codes for becoming public domain. How much I'm not sure about, but it should at least be for their expenses plus some interest over the time they spent.

I'm going to give the medical community the benefit of the doubt here, and particularly, the dermatological community. Skin cancer is something in their domain, and so of course it's a big deal for them, but I think they're m

I would say they're better than most companies, but I wouldn't put then into the "good guys" category--at least not regarding nutrition anyway. Maybe I have too high of a bar regarding who I consider to be in the "g

I'd rather see that money go towards paid training for workers like the coal miners in the article, and investment into the renewables industry they would be going into.

The truth is that it will probably be hard to find conclusive evidence unless we look for this in a living brain.

> Because the prospect of forcibly separating kids from their parents based on the decisions of aloof and poorly managed bureaucrats is a political and ethical nightmare. That's not at all what was being suggested.

That's kind of the point the point though. A lot of people will lose focus on the reason for a metric.

It's not just the power used while idling. It's the power usage in general.

It surprises me that a community so reliant wouldn't have at least pushed for some studies until the FDA stepped in, and even then, it wasn't enough.

The registry hives are still system files, and so if you want to edit a particular user's registry, you need to show them.

To be fair, with Trump, the right is self-destructing a lot faster. If that weren't the case, I'd be worried. That's not to say there aren't valid criticisms here.

Niantic is free to ignore this letter. Stifling would be if laws were passed on how Pokemon Go could be played. This isn't that. That said, these questions should be posed to the carriers rather than Niantic.

Interesting. It looks like the Nano devs have misunderstood what can be called a GNU package. If they don't assign copyright to the FSF, but want it to still be a GNU package, they just have to declare that they're taking respon

My impression from that thread is the only problem some of the devs had was assigning copyright to the FSF. They insist on sticking to FSF's principles and in fact will continue to have their code hosted on Savannah because Github isn

I'm curious, for anyone that has experience with .NET on Linux, for new stuff that you're writing, is it better to go with this or with Mono? How about if you wanted to give it a GUI interface?

The egcs fork from gcc was the only thing that finally gave the gcc devs the kick in the butt they needed to start making much needed changes, and then things eventually got merged. Maybe it will happen with OpenWRT/LEDE too.

Honest question, how many .NET developers actually write stuff for Linux on the server side? How many have a significant user base? I know there are a few desktop Linux apps (e.g. Tomboy, and Banshee), but I haven't seen many used in

That's assuming that your test cases test for all the subtle little edge cases. That's incredibly naive, and unlikely.
