It seems the Spanish flu first targeted old people, and almost disappeared during summer, before returning during fall and targeting young people. I hope it won't be like that this time.

Just look at the 1st world trending hashtag on Twitter right now: #ItsOkayToBeWhite This is what I am talking about.

It's kind of ironic that the more a society is efficient and productive, the more it's subject to a overproduction crisis and massive unemployment. We need to change the model.

In 1933, there were 80 millions young German. Today, most inhabitants in the western world are too old to fight in a WW3, but at the same time, there is no more need of a massive army to trigger a WW3. :-/

I think in the end we may have a subset of JavaScript that compiles to WebAssembly. Something like TypeScript. Something that cleans up the mess of JS and keeps the good parts.

I don't understand how HN algorithm works. Sometimes, submissions like this link seem to magically pop from nowhere?

It's a great and a major news, but I am not sure this is related to HN (same for global warming).

I don't deny that we are destroying the world and the ecosystems, but how is CO2 responsible for the garbage in the oceans? 10'000 years ago we were living an ice age. The prehistoric men didn't produce any CO2, yet our world

Yeah, we need a new JS ecosystem, let's rebuild all our stuff using deno instead node, because it was a quiet year and we have all recovered from the JS fatigue.

> Yes you can, whether should, is a different question. You can have a ton of mini TEA components. But can you make parent-child communication with these mini TEA components like in React or Vue? It seems to me that we can't.

Yes, you are right! The community - elm users - are wonderful and very nice and helpful! I was speaking about Evan. He doesn't really engage with the community (for example: https://discourse.elm-lang.org/t/elm-sha

I built a project using Elm last summer. Here is my quick feedback: + The language syntax is very nice and refreshing. + It's a joy to work with the compiler. + If it's compiling, it's working! No runtime exceptions. + Static

Svelte is great. It's a shame we need a framework to do that and that the standard HTML/CSS/JS platform can't do that natively.
