I think this is probably somewhat already the case due to smartphones. Younger generations that grew up with a smartphone as their first computing device have a lot less tech literacy than old generations that started with a desktop compute

I think this makes no sense, as web development is not the same as mobile app development. I always thought fullstack meant front end and backend, not front end across multiple platforms.

Working here in Germany, I switched to part time at 75% (5 x 6 hours). Not having to grind another two hours per day is totally worth the pay decrease. Time is the most valuable resource we have.

> Thanks to a low barrier to entry, the average developer now is much lower quality than the average 20 years ago. I think this is a big reason why we have lots of poorly performing JavaScript based software.

I think it is perfectly valid to be able to develop iOS apps on Windows or Linux. Android studio runs on both these platforms. There is no reason to restrict it other than Apple wants to sell more hardware. Every developer and CI machine ha

Socialism has never been fully realized, as under communism the surplus and means of production were controlled by the state, not the workers. It was state capitalism.

Do users have a right to express themselves on a private platform? Private platforms aren’t a public forum. Instead if the company was bought by big tech then shutdown some time later, is this also a free speech violation, as users are depr

Having worked with the file provider API, it’s not ideal. It will automatically prune downloaded files and you have no control over it. One Drive had to do a hack of storing the files you want to always keep in a different location and then

The steam deck is a step in this direction. Apple could easily do this with the iPhone and have it switch to macOS when docked, but obliviously won’t because they want to sell you two devices.

I actually think having the device become unusable, if not under the user’s control, is terrible from an environmental stand point, as the device is useless and has to be scraped. It would be much better if instead of locking everyone out o
