Want to abandon iPhones, now you are stuck in the spyware/privacy nightmare of Google and other Android OEMs.
Only option is to switch to a de-Googled rom, but then you can’t use banking apps or send messages with RCS. Android is slowly being more locked down.
- stephc_int13 3y agoI’ve been an early adopter of mobile devices of all sort, but I don’t get much value or excitement from them these days, I barely use one during travel and vacations. I use mostly a full fledged desktop workstation, the touchscreen gadget can be replaced by more specialised and better devices when needed. Good cameras are still miles ahead of any smartphone bullshit algorithmic photography, same with GPS if you’re hiking. And for taking phone calls, well anything goes. It is possible to keep an old smartphone alive for a very long time, replacing the battery is not that difficult or costly. Nah, we have choices, it is simply not that convenient if you’re a normie.
